Venue and Seating Information
The Independent, at 628 Divisadero Street, is an intimate venue with an approximately 500-person capacity. The room is general admission and standing, with a floor-level stage; there is no reserved seating unless a particular event specifies otherwise. Its compact layout offers a close-up concert experience, and the venue information describes strong acoustics and sight lines across the floor.
For the best chance of a position near the stage, arrive early, especially for a popular show. Since the event is standing-room rather than assigned seating, guests can choose their spot as they enter, subject to availability.
Parking Information
Parking around the venue can be limited on show nights. Options and practical alternatives include:
- Divisadero Street metered parking: Spaces may be available on the block and surrounding streets; supplied venue information says area meters are free after 6 p.m. Check posted signs for restrictions.
- Nearby paid lots and garages: Several options are within an estimated two-to-five-minute walk. Availability and rates vary; advance planning may help.
- Public transit: MUNI bus lines 24, 21, and 5 have stops within four blocks, according to the venue information.
- Bike share: Bay Wheels stations are reported less than one block away.

Waylon Wyatt Oakland reviews
Great game but security detail bordering on racist
Walking back to my seat, I find myself at the bottom of the stairs, ready to go down the aisle. A security guy stops me, insisting that I do not belong here and instructing me to return to my seat. I politely inform him that I am heading to my seat and show him my ticket. In a brown suit with a green Waylon Wyatt tie, he pulls me to the side, which is quite embarrassing. I am the only person he stops, and I do not see him stop anyone else before or after me. I am African American, and I am pretty offended by the unnecessary questioning. I have on all my Celtics gear and a camera in hand, just like any other fan. This whole incident is annoying, as I miss some key plays while dealing with it.
